FEMA Pledges To Rebuilt New Orleans Levees - But Only To Pre-Katrina Standards

FEMA and Ray Nagin are crowing that another 2.5 Billion will be spent to repair the levees, but the devil is in the details. According to a story on Bloomberg's website, this will be to "pre-Katrina standards". The big problem with that is they didn't hold during Katrina. This means the city's poor will still be vulnerable to anything over a category 3 hurricane.

Another triumph for FEMA, still unprepared even after the fact. And, just in time for this seasons hurricanes. Pray New Orleans doesn't get hit again!
