Well I might have to pull myself back from the lunatic fringe on this anthrax matter. Bruce Ivins the man who the FBI was going to arrest in the 2001 Anthrax attack may have stood to profit from the ensuing panic. We will never know for sure since he allegedly committed suicide, but a story in the LA Times today stated that he owned part of a patent on an Anthrax Vaccine that had been shelved until the 2001 attacks.
His motive in the attacks could have simply been greed. Once the panic started, the vaccines came off the shelf and development on them went back into full steam research. That means he would have profited from the panic, and might make a pretty good motive for the fake terrorist letters.
So far, I am somewhat less inclined to jump off the conspiracy cliff, but time will tell.
