Rand Paul - Fake Doctor? His Board Certification is a Hoax

Rand Paul is the gift that keeps on giving.  The Kentucky ophthalmologist states in his bio that he is board certified by the National Board of Ophthalmology.  That would be no big deal, except that it's a bogus organization Dr. Paul actually owns and heads!

Who else is on this "board"?  Well, his wife and father-in-law for starters.   He says he formed the non-profit after a dispute with the American Board of Ophthalmology, the only group recognized as actually being capable of issuing officially recognized certifications.

I would expect to hear more on this in coming days since the election is getting closer.  Wonder where his degree came from?  Though he may not be a fake doctor, bolting from the only organization that can certify a doctor in his field and setting up his own group to "certify" himself is really suspicious.

You gotta love all the republicans in Kentucky who voted for Rand Paul and brought him to national exposure, priceless. Lets face it they will try to vote this liar in but we can only wait and see if there is other skeltons in hs closet, oh yeah he is not a racist, I repeat, he is not a racist. Great thing is we are talking about Kentucky, so being a racist may be a positive, we will see.

To my friend Anonymous: I deleted the last 6 posts because they not only were inflammatory, but if you are going to spout that crap, have the balls to use your own name.

Fake Doctor? His Board Certification is a Hoax? No Christian could use a headlines like that, look Dad in His eternal, omnipotent eye, and not feel the fires of shame seeking to bring him back into His grace. Rand’s decision to set up his own board is fair game for honest criticism, but I can’t fathom how a brother in Christ could justify such evil distortions; please enlighten me or repent for this sin, brother.

Board certification isn't required to practice medicine in Kentucky; if you don’t think that’s wise, by all means lobby for changing it, but don’t be like the Daily Beast - keep your criticism honest. Their coverage of the story starts with the huge headline “The Biggest Rand Paul Outrage Yet” and subheading “The eye doctor isn’t properly certified? Dr. Kent Sepkowitz on Paul’s slick end-run around the profession’s licensing rules—and what it tells you about the kind of politician he is.”

The Beastly writer continues thusly: “I am here to make certain that we don’t let this one slide. His decision to sidestep the standard way doctors are certified in America is—even by summer politician standards—slimy, lazy, self-serving, and, important to remember as we sink deeper into his muck…”

Many Americans, especially liberals educated in gov’t schools, would have the “full” story already and not go further. Those intrepid souls who do read on learn that the recertification process in Kentucky is so onerous and inane that the very author himself, a doctor, goes on to admit that:

“All of this would be OK with me; I just took the frigging recertification test in my field and I hated every minute of it. It is humiliating and infuriating and insulting and a waste of time and money. Indeed, I applaud Rand’s sticking his tongue out at the gasbags who insist on teenage procedures (multiple-choice tests proctored now by cybersecurity) to assure that a doctor is certified in his field.”
I’ll allow you to follow up and read his real reason for the scathing, misleading title and subheading:
