Wal-Mart is selling T-shirts with the Nazi SS Totenkopf (Deaths Head) on them. Nice touch from the folks who have single handedly managed to wipe out many US industries and ship them to China.
Now I am in favor of free speech, but teenagers are buying these and may not even realize what they are wearing. Let Wal-Mart know your views.

To the average American, who probably has little knowledge of the War much less German military symbols from specific divisions, the Totenkopf (or Death's Head) will have next to no significance. And to be really fair, the Totenkopf has a history as a military symbol long before the Nazis came to power. This doesn't make the Totenkopf benign, however. The only people who would wear such a symbol would be wearing it for shock value or to display virulent anti-social attitudes.
If one would call any symbol which was associated with the Third Reich as intrinsically Nazi then one might also point to the ancient Germanic writing system, the runes. There is a clothing company in Germany called Thor Steinar which uses a rune motif in almost every design. Some judges in Germany have taken steps to ban this clothing company. But if you look at the catalog on the website, even a WW2 historian would find the claim that the designs reflect an underlying Nazi theme ludicrous.
