False Prophet Rev. Terry Jones Wants To Burn Holy Books!

There seems to be a cottage industry comparing people to Hitler, so I will let you draw the conclusions.

Rev. Terry Jones, of the Dove World Outreach center has started a campaign to promote his book, "Islam is of the Devil".  I guess you can imagine what kind of publicity stunt the "good" reverend has come up with the promote sales of his tome.  Yup, burning books!  Specifically he has declared "National Burn a Quran Day".

In an interview on CNN he strangely declared, "We have nothing against Muslims...", nothing except the holy book that is at the center of their religion!

I give Rick Sanchez credit for asking this AssHat "how he would feel if Muslims burned the Bible?"  He mumbled something about not liking it but "we live in America!".  So I guess in his ethos, it's OK to burn other peoples sacred scriptures, but not his?

This kind of inflamitory insanity is designed to make bucks for this alleged Christian and to inflame tensions between Muslims and Christians.  He is sowing the seeds of a Holy War and he knows it.  This kind of apocalyptic  thinking is what gets people into crazy wars and drives terrorists to murder.  He is no Christian or follower of Christ.  Enough of this charade, time to call out these charlatans for what they are, false prophets.

So if you wish to draw a comparison to Hitler now, go ahead.

NOTE:  Since Jones has decided to NOT burn the Qu'ran let's not give him any more publicity for his hateful church.  Also,  threatening comments will be deleted. Making threats has no place here or anywhere.

Praise be to Allaah

Firstly I thank Allaah, For He is Most Just, the best of judges and He is the Most Wise, who shows the truth.

secondly I thank Mr Haberman for posting this, for being unbiased and for being the one who is finally speaking sense!it is difficult to live in a world where the media constantly abuses Islam.

Glory be to God, you don't have to be a Muslim to realise there is a thin line to mockery, inhumane behaviour and discrimination.

how can anyone tolerate such behaviour?

Allaah says in the Qur'aan "they seek to mock Allaah but Allaah mocks them" (An Nisaa)

this 'pastor' terry jones, the man behind organising the upcoming 'burn a Quran day" has just been arrested by police on charges of possession of child pornography!

its interesting how Allaah humiliated this man in front of his congregation and in front of the world just like how he wished to mock Islam in front of the world..

Mr Haberman.. Thank you

I have not been able to confirm that note about Pastor Jones being arrested. Though the blurb is on NBC.com, I can't find any confirmation of it. So, I would warn anyone taking it as true to wait until there are more conformations.

As to Jones, he and his publicity stunt of burning the Qur'an is still despicable and I sincerely hope the press stays away.

Just a note, threatening posts will be deleted. There is enough hate in the world already, I will not enable it through my blog.

The purported NBC report was a user-submitted page, linking to a claim on a web forum. No actual agency reports, local police say they've not heard of any such arrest. Rather suggests that someone who doesn't like Jones has decided to start a smear campaign - which, given that he's such a self-evident jackass, might be a bit unnecessary. Funny to see people citing a false rumour as evidence that "Allah" has humbled him, though.

Burning the Quran could be an open declaration of war with the muslim ummah. So let the Americans know that Jones action could expose them to an unprecedented attack all over the world!Enough of this hypocritical press freedom.

Our Lord Jesus has call us to love and be humble ourself. I believe many Christians do not agree with "burning the Koran" We should pray to God for this type of action to stop. The bible said "pray & bless those who persecute you". Christian, please do the will of God and not the will of fresh & blood. Our eyes should focus on Jesus himself, not to plan all this type of actions which God himself does not call us to do. What is the motive??

I think that Pastor Terry Jones had the completely wrong idea when he concocted this plan to burn the Qur'aan. That is an absurd and infantile way to get your point across. Of course, steering an airplane into a building is an absurd and infantile way to get your point across, as well.

I did a Google search for "Pastor Terry Jones Arrested," which will usually pull up results from credible sources, but the only results I saw were from Flickr, MySpace, Facebook, Yahoo! Answers and the like.

This has just turned ugly from all angles.

When extremists piss off extremists, you get this sort of result.

This pastor is a disgrace to Christians across the world and humanity in general. Perhaps God will ensure that the books cannot be lit on the day in question to show this "pastor" that he is acting on behalf of the devil and NOT God.

This a sad example of what a christian is NOT supposed to do. It's saddening to see that the love our Lord taught us about is all but gone in this kind of actions. Did he not thought of the christians living in countries like Iran, whom are likely to become the targets of their anger?
Thanks for bringing this up.

Terry Jones is an ignorant man!!!!! He should take some time out of his ignorance and read the Quran. Then again, he is too stupid to recognise that.

I don't see how burning the Koran is going to solve anything. If he's trying to send a message, it's "We Christians can be extreme too!" (despite the fact that Jesus wanted us to love everyone, even if they don't love us).

Jesus 18:10-11
Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant's name was Malchus.)

Jesus commanded Peter, "Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?"

Pastor Terry Jones also used to excuse that burning the Koran is his way of 'honoring' 9/11 victims. Well, I'd love to see him explaining that to the families of Muslims who also died in the attack.

May peace and harmony prevail. What is he going to prove by such burning if he burns 1 copy 10 such koran-e-hafiz will be born so u see just by burning quran sharif he cannot delete the teachings. And above all the original Quran sharif is above the seven heavens gaurded by Allah (swt).

The Holy Quran contains a lot of surahs and verses that honors and glorify the prophets sent by Allah such Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohamed peace and blessings of God upon them, if non Muslims burn it, it will be only blasphemous and insulting to the prophets in what they believe and therefore to themselves. Every Muslim should feel sorry for these people who insult themselves, even those who have incurred the wrath of God and these people lost.

Burning another faith's holy and sacred books tantamount to deriding, condemning, insulting,....their faiths. Even their lives and culture.
Such destructive and mindless act can only be an abomination to GOD. It is unbelievable that a pastor would want to do it. Some said this can only happen in the US? I hope it's not true. I think this is sheer madness...insane...May GOD forgive him. BUT HE MUST BE STOPPED!!!

Terry Jones the self styled Rev. has shown himself to be the same kind of bigoted radical as the Muslim extremists. How he dares say he is a christian and God spoke to him is appalling, he does put you in mind of another Rev. Jones (Jim of Jonestown) who said God also spoke to him reguarly and we all know how that turned out. This egotist if he goes ahead with burning the sacred text of Islam should be held responsible for any deaths that occur.

Special message for Pastor Terrry Jones: Would Jesus approve of your threat to burn the Koran? I think not.
As a so-called man-of God you should be spreading love and forgiveness, following the Ten commandments and the Sermon on the Mount. Put hatred behind you, and learn to love unconditionally, see the beauty in the world, get to know the people of other religions and learning. Be tolerant. Learn to smile and to be happy inside. Love thy neighbour, even if his beliefs are different from yours. All roads lead to Life after Life, and it is only when we die that we will discover which, if any, religion was right .... Love the world, and the world will love you. Hate, and really, let's face it you're doomed to reincarnation until you can learn to love and be tolerant and forgiving. It's everyone's responsibility to leave the world a better place for our having been in it, when we ourselves die. Learn to love whilst you still have time. As Buddha said, "Make the most of today, for tomorrow you may die"! Be responsible for your own actions. You're free to do what you want in life so long as it is neither harmful, nor potentially harmful to others.

Yes you are right flying a plane through a building is of course an absurd idea to get your word through.
And one must also be awake enough to know that steerig your own planes into buildings just to make a point to blame others for it and to wage war on them is also absolutley unjust, un-ethical, un lawful and hypocritic.
