Bill Richardson, Governor of New Mexico, is
throwing in the towel for the Democratic nomination. After very disappointing showings in both Iowa and New Hampshire. He never gained more than 5% of the vote and ran a distant 4th in both states. Richardson will have to step down as Governor in 2010 because of term limits and many think his presidential bid was strictly a reputation builder for a later run at a future date.
