Salon Magazine reports today that Rumsfeld was in "communicated weekly with the man in charge of the interrogation, Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Miller, the controversial commander of the Guantánamo Bay detention center. " Miller is implicated in detainee abuse at Guantánamo in a report obtained this week by Salon through the Freedom of Information Act.
Miller was the lead in a mission to Iraq which critics say initiated the abuse of prisoners there.
Again, I have to wonder why President Bush today made a statement that Rummy was doing a "heck of a job" when it seems the walls are crashing down around him. Of course this would assume that Bush in really in control, and I as well as most people don't believe that for a second.
